چکیده
Radiosurgery and brachytherapy are potentially useful treatment techniques that sparingly applied in pediatric oncology. They often used the setting of reirradiation for recurrent or metastatic tumors. Reirradiation children with tumors is complicated by tolerance critical organs potential risks overall long-term dose-dependent complications. We review current literature available support use radiosurgery patients.

Brachytherapy in Reirradiation of Locally Recurrent Nasopharyngeal Cancer: Case Report
Results: The median age was 49 years, all were male, four patients had World Health Organization Class III histology, and one with nasopharyx cancer type I. Two, 1 and 2 patients had recurrent Stage I, II, III, respectively. Median time to reirradiation was 49 months. Four patients received combined-modality treatment, consisting of external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) with chemotherapy followed b...

PURPOSE To evaluate the technique, dosimetry, dose-volume-histograms (DVHs) and acute toxicity for CyberKnife® boost irradiation instead of intra-cervical brachytherapy in patients with cervical cancer. METHODS AND MATERIALS Eleven who were not suitable for brachytherapy with FIGO stage IIB-IIIB cervical cancer underwent primary chemoradiation. After fiducial implantation, T2 contrast-enhance...
متن کاملReirradiation of recurrent head and neck cancer using high-dose-rate brachytherapy
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the results of hypofractionated accelerated CT-guided interstitial HDR-BRT using 2.5 Gy per fraction. From December 2008 to March 2010, 30 patients were treated for recurrence of previously-irradiated head and neck cancer. Thirteen patients underwent surgical resection followed by HDR-BRT to the tumour bed. Seventeen patients were treated with HDR-BR...
متن کاملComparison of stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy in the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma multiforme.
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and brachytherapy in the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The patients had either progressive GBM or pathologically proven GBM at recurrence after previous treatment for a lower grade astrocytoma. Thirty-two patients were treated with interstitial brachytherapy, and 86 received treatmen...
